Summary
Bees and wasps of the "Gosener Wiesen" in Berlin, district Treptow-Köpenick (Hymenoptera)
In the area “Gosener Wiesen” a total of 333 species of wild bees and wasps were recorded. With
107 species, the area exhibits an exceptionally high diversity of digger wasps (Spheciformes).
According to the Red Data List of Berlin 57 species are more or less endangered. Five species were
recorded for the first time in Berlin, namely the wasps Parascleroderma sulcatifrons (KIEFFER,
1908), Anteon reticulatum KIEFFER, 1905, Cleptes semiauratus (LINNAEUS, 1761) and Psenulus
meridionalis BEAUMONT, 1937 as well as the bee Hylaeus pectoralis FÖRSTER, 1871. Five further
species rediscovered in Berlin are worth mentioning too, namely the wasps Omalus biaccinctus
(BUYSSON, 1892), Ectemnius fossorius (LINNAEUS, 1758), Gorytes quadrifasciatus (FABRICIUS,
1804) and Nysson spinosus (FORSTER, 1771) as well as the bumblebee Bombus jonellus (KIRBY,
1802). Bees and wasps benefit from the great habitat heterogeneity. To preserve the open and semiopen
landscape measures of management are required.
