Bees and wasps in a former military training area in Berlin, Lichterfelde (Hymenoptera)
In the former "Parks range area" in Berlin, Lichterfelde, a total of 338 species of Hymenoptera were recorded;
160 of these are wild bees and 178 are wasps. According to the Red Data List of Berlin 67 species are more or less endangered.
Three species were recorded for the first time in Berlin and Brandenburg, namely the wasps Bethylus boops (THOMSON, 1862),
Epyris niger WESTWOOD, 1832, and Gonatopus striatus KIEFFER, 1905. Some more species are worth mentioning too, e.g. the
wasps Symmorphus murarius (LINNAEUS, 1758), Ancistrocerus renimaculata (LEPELETIER, 1841), Astata kashmirensis
NURSE, 1909, and Chrysis graelsii GUERIN, 1842 as well as the bees Hylaeus cardioscapus COCKERELL, 1924, Melitta tricincta
KIRBY, 1802, Pseudoanthidium nanum (MOCSÁRY, 1879), and Tetraloniella dentata (GERMAR, 1839).
The investigated area belongs to the most important habitats of bees and wasps in Berlin and in surrounding areas.
